Is a credit score of 660 good, bad, or average?

August 31st, 2010 by admin | Filed under Good Bad Credit Score.

I was trying to raise my credit limit from my bank and the lady on the phone told me to hold so she can check my credit to see if I qualify……she told me my credit score is 660……is this an ok score for future loans I might need?

According to Experian, 660 is slightly lower than the national average credit score of 692

From the same website you can get the average score for your state.

According to FICO, a score of 660 can get you a rate of 6.305% for a 15 year home equity loan and monthly payments of $1,858 for a 36 months auto loan. For scores of 760 and up you can get lower your rates at 5.799% and $1,760 respectively

It’s on the lower side of average. I would try to get it above 700, but you shouldn’t have any problems finding a loan with your credit score.

It’s good. Above 720 is considered excellent.

I think 720 is about average for the types of loans you always hear or see advertised. With a score of 660 they will certianly adjust the rates you receive.

about 30 pts below national avg – shoot for getting over 700 – lower score will cause higher int rates
